Date: Thu, 8 May 1997 08:28:50 -0700 (PDT) Subj: [Cixi] Leaping to the moment >At dinner that night, Charles told the others some of his plans. He >was going to send Shaw to Ford's camp in the morning as a trade >emissary. He was excited about the prospect of the waterwheel and >urged Benjamin to make its construction his first priority. > >"And we must establish a city guard," he said. "Some of you I know >about, but others I do not. Let us say what military experience we >have each had, that I can put each to best use in protecting the city." > Cixi immediately steps up, "What we need is leaders and structures in an army. One studied in a skill is best suited to lead. I have only heard of one, Shaw and propose he lead. But since he go diplomat, I can humblely try to fill his shoes while gone. I am not as good as he, but have run armies before. Army will bring order to barbarians. When the house is in order all is well." Cixi takes in a deep breath and seats herself down on the edge of her seat. She watches all others carefully for their reactions. To GM: Ben, not that it really matters, but I don't think we agreed upon Ferrum based on my last GM query. Cixi listens to talk of the waterwheel with little outward interest showing. She hears the plans to seek assistance from other surrounding communities and frowns. Plan: If anyone bothers to pay attention to her frowning and asks why, she will respond, "I know of some of those type. They are not to be trusted." She spats off to the side before drawing her mouth downward to say, "They are lower than a dog sleeping in its own feeces and smell worse than an old woman's foot wraps." To GM: I hope that wasn't too offensive. Sorry if it was, I'll tone it down next time. I'll keep quiet now.
