Date: Tue, 27 May 1997 11:09:17 -0700 (PDT) Subj: [Benjamin] Anoint a villain and he'll stab you, stab him & he'll anoint you. (1733) To GM: OOC: *sputter sputter* On awakening and seeing Matoaka and Shaw, Benjamin sighed heavily before speaking. "I suppose I argued too strongly. Men are hard to know as Melons." After the introductions, or lacks thereof, with his new companions, Benjamin frowned and looked around at his surroundings carefully, hoping to find something he recognized, yet despairing of such a hope. Plan: If he recognizes anything, he'll try to figure out where Ferrum is, in relation to him. "Is there aught that either of you recognize? Know you how we might find our way back to Ferrum? I fear that we will never find it... and that it is vital that we must find it soon. Why would Ford kill us, rather than sending us back empty-handed, save that he wishes those at Ferrum not to know of the Outcome of our Negotiations? Perhaps he means to attack, and only we could warn Charles and the others. Whatever he means, it can be no good." Plan: If by some chance there's something Benjamin recognizes, or some way that Shaw or Matoaka might know of for us to find our way back to Ferrum, Benjamin will be in a great hurry to head there, ignoring the copper-skinned folks and the other lazarus until/unless they press him otherwise. To GM: I don't recall if I've asked this before, but is it possible to tell one's location on Riverworld via the stars? In my travels, have the stars shifted as we've gone north or south? Do we even *have* stars? Plan: If we know of no way to find Ferrum, but Benjamin has reason to think it might be possible to tell by the stars, he'll urge everyone to wait until nightfall to check them and see if we're north or south of Ferrum; then he'll fret nervously until then. Plan: If absolutely no information is available, Benjamin will suggest we head south, since he's already familiar with the land south of Ferrum for a ways, so if luck has placed us near enough to arrive in time it will only be by virtue of placing us north of Ferrum. To GM: Are we on the east or west side?
